So we didn't get the snow for Christmas. up here in Maine. The world didn't get peace again and I didn't get a Mercedes. 

So Christmas was brown here - but it probably snowed somewhere - we just weren't specific enough. World peace is, well, out there somewhere, we just need to grasp the concept in our hearts. But we have to open our hearts before that happens. And my Prius with 150,000 miles on it is still running like a charm (knock on wood), so who needs a brand new Mercedes anyway.

A long time ago I decided to adhere to a Stones lyric that says:

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want ( think this is said three times because we don't seem to get it on the first two tries. Some of us still don't get it)

But if you try sometimes, well, you might find

you get what you need

I saw these two boats last summer in Carvers Harbor out on Vinalhaven Island and thought to myself, someone who lives out there year 'round really needs to make them into a holiday greeting card. It's perfect and totally the real Maine.

It's not news that the moon can have a bizarre effect on, well, everything. But this round was not something I've experienced before.

I had flu and Covid shots yesterday. One in each arm. Didn't sleep a wink last night except for an hour or two in early morning when one of those breathtakingly exhausting dreams unfold - a story board of your own making that is so vivid and believable that it has to be for real on one of those many planes out there.

I figure the two shots were a combination of adrenaline and LSD. The pharmacist made a mistake. It was a batch that was supposed to go to a clinical study in Boston. I'm still  so revved up I could do ten of these sketches. But the crash is coming. It always will. It always does.

Yep, it must be a holiday week because there's a storm arriving here in New England on one of the busiest travel days of the year.
